A billion years? HA!!

Do you plan to stop using cars? I don't mean to stop polluting, I mean to not be killed in an accident.

No more airplane flights! And who would risk a space flight if it meant cutting short immorality.

Ruthless people could suppress meeker people by threatening to deny them immortality.

The simple fact of the matter is we are not ready for immortality.

If living for our children (iterated) is not satisfying enough, then maybe cloning will be. Especially if there were a way of "download" the best of our experience and knowledge into fresh versions of ourselves, perhaps that would be a sufficient sense of morality. Having several "backup" versions of oneself buffers against accidents.

In the meantime, let's "teach our children well!"
