Can we put a stop finally to the myth that the American peace movement denigrated Viet Vets?

I very much doubt there were more than a dozen such incidents, but the pro-war media just ran and ran with it.

We sympathized with soldiers for the rotten position they were thrust into. We gave sanctuary to those who went AWOL. Many vets joined the peace movement.

Of course, there were the rare twisted souls who took pleasure in killing civilians. Most escaped punishment for their crimes. But we NEVER assumed anyone was guilty just because they had served.
