Darwinism gets us to the threhold of consciouness (and thus the potential for illusions). It takes language (in the liguistic sense of the word) to cross the threshold.

Our trying to understand aspects of the world are simple that: attempts. A paradign shift is the adoption of a better attempt. If you do not succeed at first, try, try again. Such is our fate!
