If humans behave sensible (a big IF?), I see no reason why an AI dmoniated world would feel it necessary to erradicate us. If AI is curious about its origins as we are, then preserving history will be one of its goals.

Perhaps we should set a better example in this regard. Improve our zoos, natural history and historiical museums, indigenous crafts and languages, etc. Than we might hope to be treated well and even be turned to for advice from time to time.
