In another posting/reply to this article, I deal with the indirectly induced gene-evolution. Once human developed the language ability, meme-evolution far outpaced gene-evolution. The social evolution you describe is due to almost entirely to mem-evolution. And, until recently, it has had only a small impact on hysical/medical aging.
