May I humbly suggest we spent the next two decades focussed laser-like on establishing a nuclear-weapon-free-world and avoiding catastrophic climate change? While it is theoretically possible that messages from other worlds would help us secure ours, it would be foolish to bank on that.

Once we have secured those two crucial threats, then by all means return to stargazing and ultra-long-range planning.
