Maybe we experience time going "forward" because there is an evolutionary advantage to spotting probable cause and effects. Take the bouncing ball: would it useful to think that shock waves in the ground just happen to converge where the ball is about to land and thus propel it higher? No, it is much more useful (especially if you have no idea about the shock waves that an impacting ball creates) to assume that the ball loses "something" with each bounce.

In short, living time backwards would be virtually impossible. So we, and probably all living creatures, have opted for the easier route -- whatever works!
