The carpet- and fire-bombing of WWII were war crimes committed by all parties. These tactic were outlawed in 1952 long before so-called precision bombs were invented. The indiscriminate nature of a bomb is not necessarily improved by accuracy if the power of its explosion is increased also. The The International Network on Explosive Weapons is campaigning against "wide-area" (i.e. powerful) explosives being used in populated areas. Check them out!
