Unlike, several of your other pieces, this one is largely rubbish. I have looked at the Hamas and IDF figures in other comments on Medium.com. The Hamas spin was to consider all unidentified adults killed as women. The IDF spin is to consider all unidentified adults killed as men. But men and women are roughly equally vicitms of indiscriminate slaughter. (Roughly, since a very small percentage of Gazan men are Al Qassam fighters, and an even smaller percentage of women.)

Removing the spin, the ratio during the first three months is more like 10:1, indiscriminate to discriminant. Following that period, the ratio has fallen to about 3:1.

That the latter figure is "typical" for urban warfare does not make it OK, but would only fairly be called genocide if Russia and US (among others) were also accused of genocide in some of their urban warfare.

Conclusions:

(1) If the IDF sticks to its estimates of "fighters" killed, then it is guilty of genocide against Gazan males.

(2) The entire subject of urban warfare has to be re-envisioned. As many civilians as possible should be evacuated to truly safe,, humane areas before an bombardment beginnings. This was done on the second assault on Mosul and the ratio dropped from over 8:1 down to less than 2:1.
